Seems like this just happened!  One day it's $1.91...the next it's $2.15!   and it's going up every day!  Did I miss something?  Why is it going back up?

It's using people power. People get gas, log in and report prices. It's as close to being real time as you can get at the moment.
You can also chart gas prices, compare states to each other as well as compare it to crude oil prices.

I guess Ohio has taken it's normal jump (up or down) in gas prices. Now at $2.70- $2.80.
We coast along at around $2.40 here in Mass, and trending up.
I checked the charted comparison between Ohio and Mass and the overall trend is identical. It's just that Ohio doesn't seem to know much about smoothness.
Summertime gouging seems to be fully in place.

That is still pretty high but considering where you live, I guess it's reasonable.

City of Chicago has been highest in the country for some time now. We get reminded about that often.
