I was trying to say "back on track" typo, sorry.
And no, I don't think Venus should crush Davenport,Sharapova,or Serena. They're the cream of the crop -- and I wasn't saying Venus was the best in the world. Those are players that it should be a gamble against everytime she plays. And indeed it has. The last time Venus played Davenport it was 7-5 6-4 and the time before that it was something like 7-6 7-5. She's competing but she's not quite where she could be (winning some of those matches). But players like Myskina, Mauresmo and Molik are players that Venus should be beating the majority of the time. And players like Karolina Sprem, Mary Pierce....those are players Venus should absolutely demolish everytime she steps on court w. them. A rusty Kim Clijsters would go into that category as well.
IMO, much like ill logic, I agree that Venus is at the very top of that second par. She's not quite up there w. Serena, Lindsay or Maria but right after the three of those you have Venus & Mauresmo and Svetlana Kuznetsova. I'm hoping that Venus gets back on track and when she does, there's no doubt she'll be thrown in the mix w. the Sharapovas and the Davenports.
As for her semi-final today against Myskina -- if she wins this, I'm convinced that she is back.
