Venus is up a set against Maursemo

But here is the real shocker

Federer is down a set to Ljubicic.  wowsers!

Edit - Now Federer is at 4-4 in the second set, and Mauresmo is up a break in the second.

Edit - Maursemo takes second set.  Bummer!

Edit - Federer at 5-5 in the second set

Edit - Federer breaks and takes the second set 7-5.  Hopefully that will motivate the crap out of his to ravage this third set.

Edit - Venus up 2-1 in the 3rd.  We was up 2-0.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

And now they're in a tiebreak!

The stupid live video isn't working--for me anyway--only the audio, which is pretty useless.  What a match this would be to actually see!

Federer wins, 5-7 7-5 7-6

His forehand looked mighty shaky today, then again Ivan played a great match, with very little unforced errors.  His one-handed backhand was causing a lot of trouble for Fed.

I had to go to church right after my previous post so I missed it all.  Nice job for Federer.  He better get his game back on, there are much better players out there than his opponent today!

He was fighting off a serious opponent today, that was for sure.  Reminds me of Pete, finds a way to win even though he didn't play his best tennis.

Great win for Fed, I expected it to be easier.  I think in the end this was better for him than a blow out like the first time they played this year.  Hopefully this will boost his conffdence is tight matches.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Indeed, that is a surprising win for Federer. You'd expect him to crush pretty much anyone besides Andre, Marat or maybe Andy. But  he almost got taken today... for the variety of the game, I hope someone else starts to play better but I dont wanna see him crash. The Fed's gotta get it together.

Ljubicic has a nice game.  I've seen him play a few times and this score isn't a great shock to me.
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

He needs to cut down on the errors, and he did that against Fed.
