How To Play[/u]
1. Pick your 8 QFists true to the draw and rank them C,F,SF,SF,QF,QF,QF,QF
2. Format: follow Babblelot's lead--last name only; no comments*, emoticons,
puncuation and do not indicate their rank--it's understood they are in order (see 1 above).
Check your spelling. If you choose a Rochus boy, use O Rochus or C Rochus (no punctuation).
*place all comments at the bottom of your list
3.1. Select exactly 1 player between (1) Federer and (13) Haas
3.2. Select exactly 1 player between (9) Blake and (5) Gonzalez
3.3. Select exactly 1 player between (3) Roddick and (15) Ljubicic
3.4. Select exactly 1 player between (12) Gasquet and (8) Murray
3.5. Select exactly 1 player between (6) Davydenko and (10) Baghdatis
3.6. Select exactly 1 player between (16) Hewitt and (4) Djokovic
3.7. Select exactly 1 player between (7) Berdych and (11) Robredo
3.8. Select exactly 1 player between (14) Youzhny and (2) Nadal
4. Regardless of a player's actual result, he's only credited with points according to your pick.
For example, assume you pick Agassi to reach the QF, but he actually advances to the F. In this
example, Agassi will only be credited for reaching the QF, or 50 pts. Similarly, assume you pick Federer to win the title (C), but he only reaches 2R. Fed's score, then, is 7 pts (see scoring below).

Scoring[/u]
Grand Slam scoring system will be employed.
C - 200 pts
F - 140 max pts
SF - 90 max pts
QF - 50 max pts
4R - 30 max pts
3R - 15 max pts
2R - 7 max pts
Main Entry - 1 pt

Example (based on actual 2005 US Open results):
………………..   Picks……….      Pts
Champion….   Roddick…………..      1
Finalist…….   Federer……………      140
SF………….   Hewitt……………..      90
SF………….   Grosjean………….      15
QF………….   Agassi…………….      50
QF………….   Ljubicic……………      15
QF………….   Nalbandian……….      50
QF………….   Hrbaty……………..      30
   Total Points……….      391
Notice, Federer is limited to 140 pts; similarly, Agassi is limitted to 50 pts
So, had Federer been picked to win, he would have received 200 pts;
had Agassi been picked to reach the F, he would have received 140 pts

How To Win[/u]
The person with the most Total Points wins.

Tie-breakers[/u]
1. Champion pick
2. most picks advancing to Finals
3. most picks advancing to Semifinals
4. most picks advancing to Quarterfinals

Comments:

The 1980s brought us Cash-Lendl, the '90s Kraijcek-Washington. This is the year Federer meets his Kraijcek. Unlike most, but like some, I really believe his loss to Nadal at RG took more out of Roger than any loss he'll ever suffer--prior or to come. Just disappointed to see Haas having to meet Roger so early in a slam... a-gain. So it's Haas who plays the role of David.

Go Tommy!   :uh:

OSU Buckeye:
So you just list your picks from top to bottom as top-Champion, next-finalist, next-SF, next-SF, and so on?

So, if I understand yours correctly, you have Roddick beating Berdych in the final, Haas and Djoko in the SF, and the others in the QF?  Is this right?    Thems bold picks yo, Fed losing before the QF!   :-o

100%, you get a gold star :gold star:

I just list them because it's a simple copy/paste, and from rule #1 we know the order is:

C
F
SF
SF
QF
QF
QF
QF

Federer
Djokovic
Roddick
Youzhny
Baghdatis
Murray
Gonzalez
Bjorkman

Reasonably tough draw for Nadal. C'mon Murray, prove me wrong against Roddick. Murray is capable of beating Roddick, but as he's been out for a while, I must go with Roddick..
