Unlock your car with a tennis ball?
« on: June 26, 2007, 07:00:25 PM »
At first it seems insane that a tennis ball could unlock a car door.  I've never seen a locksmith use this trick (I guess he wants to stay in business). Man, does this actually work, has anyone tried it? They concept behind the video seems to make sense.  Air pressure forcing the lock to open from a small hole in a tennis ball.  This really worries me if it does work.

This is a little scary. I'll have to see if this works on my car. If it does, some modifications may be in order.

Theoretically it should work but I'd have thought you need a lot more force on the tennis ball but if a blonde girl can do it.. I should give it a try even though most likley she's at least twice as strong as me.

Who do you think came up with it? My guess is a burgler.

loll That was interesting... It would have been more convincing if they had kept it as one clip and shown us that the door was locked beforehand, and then unlocked after she'd pressed the ball to the lock.  ..-)

Not to discount the theory that this is more special effect than reality, but when she presses the ball agianst the lock, you can pretty clearly see the lock pop up. It's down when she starts, she presses the (ball?) against the keyhole and it pops up.

Lol no we can't be sure, because the girl moves forward and stands just in front of the lock at one moment, and then when she moves backward, the lock is up, strangely...I'm sure the video has been cut at that moment (1:23) !
