Wed. dub update-
MF & I v. RF & DK. Fully expected to lose 3,4,. For some reason MF & I clicked and we trounced the 'better' team 6-1, 7-6 (4), 10-8 TB! I felt like I was moving pretty well and all facets of the game were better than normal, still, if we had lost 2,2 I wouldn't have been as surprised! Seems like I do really well with partners who can clean up the mess after my strong serves and returns. I'm then left to play consistent tennis the rest of the time and stay more relaxed. Needless to say the 'Big Boys' weren't smiling much!
RF- was able to serve wide to his forehand without getting a wide return in the deuce court. He didn't lob very much this match. He served predominantly up the T with me in the deuce court. He didn't use his slice serve much after I punished a few forehand returns at DK.
DK- Seemed a bit off in the warmup????? After several sharp returns directed at him he basically didn't poach at all the rest of the match. I hit a dozen or so BH returns to him that stayed low and he replied with a shot back to my FH which I handled easily. I was able to reflex volley a few of his shots at me tho' he usually puts those away. Handled his serve well, which is no easy task considering the placement, variety, spin, and pace.

Am still convinced something was off with him???
MF- we need to work on communication as there were multiple collisions on lobs when I called for the shot as I had better position and then he'd wander into the area (backing up) to take the shot. Both DK and RF managed to direct shots down the middle as we both watched the winnner sail by without trying. This is the 2nd time that I've actively provided tons of positive feedback to him and both our games seemed the better for it. I've noticed that when things go sour with him it can spiral downward quickly and you better have on a parachute!
btw I'm starting to feel a bit more freedom in the swing on my BH. Thanks DMast!
