Sorry for not keeping you up to date.
I've got a hinge problem and it's got me down in the dumps.  :depressed:  This is usually the time of year when I get to hit the courts 4+ times a week. :(
Am headed to the Doc next month for diagnosis(s).  Am fairly sure there are multiple issues there.  ACL, miniscus, and other. :mad1:
Anticipate surgery in early March.

Having fun watching the AO though,  I still don't have a favorite.
Also playing more chess thanks to my current immobility.

That sucks.  I hope you don't need surgery and you can heal that ole' body up quickly!

Yeah, I hope you are just overly worried and the hinge is not nearly as bad as you fear.  But, you don't strike me as the hypo-chondriac type!?

2 weeks after the 'sprain', still pretty swollen though I can walk and climb stairs with a full step.
It would be a miracle if I were to find only 1 problem or to not have surgery.
The reality of it is I've been beating on my body for a few years now and it's time to pay the piper.

Fortunately, I have 3 friends that have been through various forms of knee surgery/recovery so I have a bit of experience to draw upon.

I was sorry too to read this. :(

In my extended experience, the important thing is to allow time for things to get right and to realise that as one gets older, it takes longer. When the curing process is not successfully converging, then is the time to consider things like surgery but only with a second opinion taken into account as well.

It's a good time not to be able to play. I've having a job finding even one game a week. Next week looks like zero.

Thanks E1, I think it will all work out for the best eventually.
I will be forced to improve my fitness prior to surgery and lose weight before and after. :)
I've put it off long enough.

Roddick did it (not that it helped much - he had a pretty easy run to the semis) but maybe you should not resort to such an extreme regimen quite so quickly!  :))

Am thinking more in terms of overall fitness prior to surgery to speed recovery.
But it sounds like you know me all too well!  I am Mister Over Do It in pretty much everything! :)) :(

I'm surprised to see your journal so far down, it's usually busy. Is it snowing?

I think Monster is going through what I got through when I can't get on the court. He is staying away because it will just frustrate him, and intensify the withdrawls.

Not much happiness to report from the tennis front.  Haven't been on the court in well over a month now. :mad1: :(
My forecasted return to the game is still questionable.  I may try some non-competitive play in a few weeks after my follow up appt.
Must save remaining clicks on the knee for work.  Replacement is inevitable at this point.  Just trying to stall it a bit longer so I don't need the same knee done twice in this lifetime. ;-()

I am with you on that stalling so as to avoid having it done twice.  Though I am guessing yours must be a lot worse off than mine.  Dang man!  Hate to hear this.
