You need to learn to play with people who see the kicker often and are use to it, those are the better players.  You will learn much by playing with them.  I love playing against better players, always a good experience!!!
Spot on there!  That's why I'm excited to be playing with the Thurs. group here.  I watched 2 of those dudes hit singles last week and they were consistently hitting 50-100 ball rallies with pace and various spins.  Just plain sick!  It made me think of watching Courier and Martin warming up on a side court before the Newport tourney this past summer.  50-100 ball rallies were a regular thing and kinda "matter of fact" for them. :)

Definitely spot on there!  I have really tried to work on that consistency with pace and control............for me I feel it is mostly watching the ball well so there are low number of mis**ts.  Some of the better 4.5 players we compete against can hit almost forever without missing.
A rather lofty goal for me!
CONK da ball!!!

I definitely wish I was playing more and can't stand to miss a scheduled league match.  I had to give my spot to Scottie Wed. night which drives me nutz!   :(

I'm looking at nearly a one week layoff over the holiday which is painful after the 3-4 times a week I was getting before that....
Still, it's great to be with family, I just wish more of them played tennis!!!

hmmmm, I tried those 10 years ago, they sucked.  But technology is better these days, let's hope they are better than what I used.  :)  Let us know.

They were great for 1-2 shot drills, not for rally drills.

On a very dark note.... :depressed:

I pulled a groin muscle today near the end of the first hour of practice. :(
Tennis and cardio training will be on hold for a couple of weeks minimum. :mad1:
Anyone with knowledge or experience in the treatment of this type of injury feel free to PM me with advice.

Ouch! That's no good. Hope you get back on the courts soon.

Tried a bit of low level dubs with the Tues night crew and it went ok.
No strenuous play and the only groin pain I had was on 2 low balls to the back hand.  The pain seemed to go away quickly so I continued play.  I was surprised at how well I was able to serve without much knee bend...

I may try some more competitive dubs on Thurs eve if things still feel ok then.

With a nickname like Monster Truck how can I NOT over do it?

That's always been my biggest challenge coming back from an injury.  I try to play relaxed "old man" tennis and then get excited when there's no pain and poooof here we go again.

That's the only brand I seem to know how to play.

So you pulled a Serena ;-(). How can you stand the treadmill by the way?

I'm an idiot savant. ;-()
Or at least an idiot.  ;-()  Certainly I am ADD/OCD/OPP but in an odd sort of way...
But while I'm on the treadmill my mind wanders and I literally have to force myself to stop   Fortunately, the same thing happens when I step on the tennis court!  Pure joy, and the end, no matter how late, is too soon. :))
