Pimpim and Robin out of Davis Cup vs France

Both injured. OK clay was probably not their best surface anyway but it's disappointing.
On the other hand, I'm quite happy we'll get to see the oldies Bjorkman, Johansson the 1st and Enqvist and captain Wilander.

By the way, Guy Forget has left Santoro out of the team once again. We'll have Grosjean, Mathieu, Clément, Llodra and Monfils as orange boy.

Can't wait for Friday. Love Davis Cup weekends in front of the TV. :applause:

Yes that's his official nickname. He might play finally as his shoulder is doing better.

Sweden has a shot.  Team France isn't great on clay either.  I'd say France might be better suited for a carpet or hard but that'd be playing to the strengths of Sweden too.

Haven't been keeping up with Santoro lately.  Is his being left off the team controversial?  Is there bad blood with Forget and Santoro?

Davis cup is failing to excite me much.  Of course, South Africa can't ever do anything.  Ferreira may have to come out of retirement to play singles.  At least they aren't having to play at an old Fed Cup venue.  You Europeans and Americans don't know how lucky you are to have so many players to choose from.  We have Ferreira (retired and 'fat').  Wesley Moodie, Rik DeVoest and I'm not sure who else.  Wesley Moodie is sort of a Ivo Karlovic kind of guy.  About 6'6".  Huge serve, moves like an Ent.  Rik DeVoest is a sweetie (no killer instinct).  It's probably going to be 0-5 (if they even play the dead rubbers).

Wesley Moodie and Wesley Whitehouse are both South African.  I am not sure what has become of Whitehouse.  He hasn't been mentioned in the papers lately.  Not that tennis is covered that much.  I seem to recall that he moved to the United States.  Maybe he switched nationalities.
