Federer vs Ljubicic Part III
« on: February 26, 2005, 03:23:26 PM »
Unreal that this is their 3rd meeting in finals this year.  Federer showed mad respect for Agassi and brought his "A" game.  Do you think he will offer up a tad more respect this time than last to Ljubicic?  Last time it went to a third set tie-breaker.  I look for Federer to win in 2 sets again.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Ljubo has been very impressive this season, his 4th final this year already. Maybe this could be a big breakthrough year for him. He's always had a big serve and forehand but he seems to have added much more to his game this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he did very well at Wimby this year if he keeps this kind of form up.

How has he done in the past at The Big W?

Should be a good final.  I look forward to the results!

Ivan's Grand Slam record is really quite dismal.  He has only ever reached the third round of any slam twice, and only won two slam matches in the last 12 months.

It does look like he might seriously start to pick things up now, if his form in optionals is anything to go by.  Will be interesting to see how he goes in Indian Wells, but he won't have much time to rest as he's playing Davis Cup against the US next week.

Yeah, he's played a lot over the past few weeks - every week in fact since the Aussie Open, reaching the semis at worst in each event.

Federer wins yet again, 6-3 in the 3rd.  Simply amazing.  As for Ljubicic, he is going to take a serious jump in ranking if he keeps this up too!

Safin barely beat Federer in the semi at AUS and people start questioning if Federer lost his aura. If Federer can win 2 tourneys in a row when he lost his "aura", I'd feel sorry for the ATP when he finds it again.

Poor Ljubicic.  He needs to find some tournament Roger does not plan on attending.  He would probably have some winning trophies to take home if he did.   I am suprised (not sure why yet) he is doing so well.

Hello... I'm new on this tennis board but a regular on some of the others!  I just recently discovered this forum...so I'll be checking it out now that I've found it.

On an interview wtih Ljubicic he said jokingly that Federer was beginning to get on his nerves now :))   Sounds like all the other players.  But I love it!  I love it when Roger wins tournaments not playing his best!  He's showing a lot of grit and guts and a great sign of maturity now.

Just thought I'd give my 2 cents.  (P.S.  The USA better watch out in Davis Cup...this team is no joke).

Denise50, welcome to the boards, glad you found us here.  :)

I am sure Federer is getting on many players nerves.  He is doing some massive damage on the tour right now.

As far as the Davis Cup, I think this could be a great year for the US.  A very  intriging line up indeed.  It is going to take some tough players on their own surface to take out this line up.

Yeah, Federer totally gets on my nerve when he got the nerve to even go 3 sets against most of those guys. The nerve of him! What the hell is he thinking  :\
Do onto others like you did to Agassi  :))

Of coarse I am referring to the ATP players, not us *club players*.  ( I hate that term)

Thanks everyone for welcoming me to this new site! Especially my fellow 'mextroplex' fan kungpaobenji and Tennis4you.  I love talking about tennis (and of course Federer), but all of them.  I'll be posting more later! :H
