Ok, I read it, and he was complaining... I just read like the first line.  Why do you hate football though.  It is the most exciting game ever.  (basketball second, tennis third)  You should root on your school, and putting those extra seats in and spending money on football will pay off in the long run.  Nobody really gives a damn about college tennis, but football is a major sport.  BTW, Florida wouldn't hire Rutgers coach when they have Urban Meyer...

The original point is that, though football and basketball are the only really moneymaking sports in most college sports programs, the emphasis from the school has become let's be a football power rather that an institution of higher learning. Money is being taken from other areas to beef up the football program in the interests of making the college a bigger name in the country. This will bring more students to Rutgers. The school leaves the area of being a school and enters into the relm of being a corperate entity. It's not about educating young minds, it's about making more and more money.
The NCAA football and basketball seasons have become big buisness, and that, in the end, is wrong. It's twisting the educational system into something it shouldn't be.

OK... Which one of you guys put the nasties into Michigan's food  ?
Who put the curse on the Wolverines :fever: ?
First they lose to App State (for you soccer/football fans that's like ManU losing to...oh some club team from around the corner), then the get killed by Oregon! :yikes:

Meanwhile OSU is unbeaten, untied! :dance 2:

I am pumped that OSU is undefeated and moving up in the rankings!  It is to be expected although I am beyond shocked that MU is 0-2 having lost 2 games in a row at home!?   :;:-|   When is the last time they lost 2 home games in a row........if ever?   And, they were ranked preseason #5 right????   :-o    I actually root for the Big Ten to do well against other conferences.  Now, MU has only 1 thing to place big effort on for this season.............beating OSU.  Lets hope OSU can put loss #3 or more on them at their own place!  Whats up with Notre Dame also?  I know they were expected to lose quite a few games this year, but where is their football program going?  Maybe they are running a rare clean program and should therefore be commended!

OSU is 2-0 but hardly looks like a juggernaut.  They will lose Saturday at Washington if they don't play better on offense.  This week's "showdown" will be ND - Michigan...the loser goes to 0-3.

Notre Dame got killed by Georga, then by Penn State. So at least they are playing better competition. Michigan couldn't stop App State or Oregon. The only thing they have going for them is that ND is in complete rebuild mode with a freshman quarterback. But Michigan has no excuse for thier bad start. They were in the running for the national championship late and have many seniors who choose not to into the draft to make another run at it. That run is over. Now they are just playing for pride, and draft status.

OSU plays at Washington at 3:30pm EST.  OSU is ranked 10 and Wash. is not ranked thought they beat 17 ranked Boise State last week.  This should be a tough game.  Unfortunately, I will be at a wedding that starts at 3:00pm and in DC so hopefully I can find the game on the tellie after the ceremony and before the reception.   ||-|

I saw something on BBC this morning about safety of American Soccer, with an example of a player getting a life-threatening injury. Any news on this?
