I think 4 is not enough. To me this is a pick'em game. I have no idea who will win. But I can say whoever wins will probably win by more than 7. I think Vegas may take a bath on this one.
And every once in awhile Vegas needs to take a nice cleansing bath. :rofl_2:

I believe this is correct, they set the line at Vegas and call it the opening line, then depending how people bet, the line can change. Lets say the opening was NE by 4, then if most of the people bet on NE the line will change to reflect that, maybe the line will go to, for example, NE by 7 points. Here's a link, check the opening line and see how it moves to compensate for the betters. For NE today it's up to 5 points!
This way they cover themselves(Vegas). If Peyton Manning gets hurt during practice the line most certainly will change to reflect thier diminishing chances.

I think NE will win fairly easy.   This game has no real impact though outside of its effect on their likely inevitable 2cnd game facing each other this season (home field advantage for the playoffs included)!

Should be a good game, Manning will have to be at his very best and that's the interest, can he have a remarkable game? There's no one else that has a chance except Indy.  IMO

You have the defending Super Bowl Champs (Colts), undefeated, playing at home, getting no respect, so I'm casting my vote for Indy.
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.  - Mitch Hedberg

I was too, until I saw most of the national pundits picking Indy. Now I've got to change mine. ..-)

I haven't seen many, but the majority that I have seen have taken Indy.
All the local yahoos have the Pats rolling on to 19-0. :)~

Here's the new buzz word in football.
Scorched Earth Policy.
They are saying that Belichick is trying to embarrass everyone with this juggernaut he has assembled. No mercy for anyone.

Yes, he is on a mission to prove that he doesn't need to cheat to win.  So far, I'd say he is succeeding.

Well the predicted total for points scored is 56.5 points. That's the highest for any game this week, so a shootout is expected.

And yet I'd take the over without hesitation.

Hey! There is another game being played this weekend. Dallas is playing Philly!
I thought it was just the Indy/NE game this week.

When is the NE/Indy game?   What time?   I think I will likely miss it!   :(

I don't know. I know it's Sunday, but I would expect it to be the night (NBC) game. Have to check that out.

If it is the night game that would be perfect.....................I could catch the 2cnd half after our tennis match.  Any other time on Sunday and I will be briefly catching the score at best.  This is the kind of game I would like to watch every single play and hear all the commentary on.

Surprisingly it's a 4:15 tilt. So you will have to record the game if you want to watch it.
I wouldn't feel too bad, I'd rather be on the courts too.

Well, I might be able to listen on the radio while going to tennis and catch a little at the club right before we play at 7pm.  Better than nothing I suppose.

Well, I was off watching the "big game", the only game of the week. I was pretty surprised at the score. NE wins 24-20. I thought the score would be higher.
One thing that struck me as I watched the game, the officiating was horrendous. It one sidedly horrendous. New England 10 - 146; Indy 4 - 25. And at least 3 of the penlties on the Pats were clearly wrong. The worst was a goal line pass interference on the defense when it really should have been offensive interference if anything. Put the Colts on the 5 yeard line. They got a field goal out of that. Another more legit pass interference gave the Colts the ball inside the previously and got 3 points out of. But I can say that the first was legit, the second was terrible.
They called Moss with offensive pass interference in the endzone when he turned to catch a ball and the defender had his hand wrapped around Moss' middle.
There were a few other calls against the Pats, and calls not made against the Colts.
I don't mention this with an eye on the NFL trying to make the "good guy" Colts the winners, and the "bad guy" Pats the losers. I mention it because the betting line on the game was Pats by 4 at the beginning of the week, and was almost 6 by game time. The Pats won by 4, but really should have won by 10 or 14. So all those who took the Pats (and with the spread moving nearly 2 points over the week, that would be most of the money). Add the NBA ref who was in the pockets of the gamblers, and the recent allegations of tennis players, you have wonder if the NFL refs aren't above taking some extra money to try and control the scoring to help the bookies as well.

OUCH!

Dallas kills Philly. But the play of the game was in the 4th quarter, when Jason Whitten caught a pass and was speared by a Philly defender, disloging his helmet, but not knocking him down. At the same time another defender hits him and rips his helmet off, but Whitten still doesn't go down. He runs, helmetless, for another 20 yards or so before getting caught.
