Boston won again, where did they come from. I guess Garnett made quite a difference.

Wasn't just Garnett. It's adding Garnett, Ray Allan and keeping Paul Pierce whoo is still a very good talent. 3 potential, or lock hall of famers on the same team. That just doesn't happen much in today's NBA. Add that by all accounts all 3 have taken a team first attitude, and some bit players added who have made a good contribution and they've got a good team.
Truthfully I didn't think it was possible for this to have happened. When Ainge took over the franchise they were deep in salary cap hell. They were way over the cap, and commited to top dollar players long term. They had played in a Eastern confrence championship series and lost, and were making another run when Ainge took over. Instead of standing pat, he started to gut the team and change the philosophy of the team. He kept making trades and good draft picks, but he made strange player trades that just didn't seem to help, and, while he had drafted a nucleous of you good talent it was going to be a long time before they would gel into a good team, if ever. Ainge kept saying he was stocking up young talent to trade, but no one thought anything was available to trade for and the locals started to fall in love with the young talent, like Delonte West and Al Harrington. Then this season Ainge traded nearly all the young talent for these veteran superstars, and suddenly they are not only relevant again, they are very close to being an elite team. Not just good enough to compete for a Eastern confrence crown, but an NBA title.
He went from being the GM most likely to be run out of town to the GM most likely to be voted mayor of Boston (if not Governer of Mass).

Looks like Ainge is doing a fine job and the team chemistry looks real good.
I'm happy for Garnett, I always liked his work ethic but he didn't have enough help to go very far. He needed a break and now has a good teammates to compliment his skills.

Kobe shines under Christmas Lights!

Kobe Bryant tallied 12 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter and Andrew Bynum scored a career-best 28 as the Lakers rolled past the Suns on Christmas Day, 122 - 115

Blazers notch 11th straight win!

In what has become one of the more remarkable stories in the NBA this season, Portland extended its winning streak to 11 with Tuesday's victory over Seattle, 89 - 79

Cleveland rocks on Christmas Day!

LeBron James posted 25 points and 12 assists and Daniel Gibson hit four treys, including two in the fourth, as the Cavs topped the Heat in the Christmas opener, 96 - 82

Well last year my Mavs romped through the regular season and fizzled out in the playoffs.  Now this year they are not setting the league on fire during the regular season, but maybe they are saving themselves for the playoffs? (well, I have to find something positive out of this season for my Mavs) :innocent:

Nope, they're playing the best they can. A good team no doubt.
We'll get a good idea at the end of january, teams and players settle into what carries thru the year by then usually.

I haven't seen them hardly at all but Pierce is cash, Garnett is definitely cash, and Ray Allen is one of the most smooth players out there!  He is one of my favorites................the dude can flat play the game!

and now Rondo is playing some serious ball so they are going to be tough to beat.   But the Pistons put it to them in the Gahden a couple of weeks ago so it's not going to be handed the the Celts.

What I wonder is how long the celtics will be able to afford to keep all three, especially if they end up not winning the championship somehow. They are a great team but i think the spurs or the pistons will probably put up a great fight.

Never discount the Spurs, they are a playoff tested team and this year looks like the past years. The Celtics are playing great, I want to jump on their bandwagon but it's too early for me to do that. So far it looks like the Spurs, Celtics and the Pistons.

The Cavs are FINALLY rolling.  Varajao and Pavlovic held out for much of the first part of the season and it took some time for the team to jell but I think we've turned the corner.
