Maria sees off battling Robson

BATTLING Brit Laura Robson crashed out of Wimbledon as she was outclassed 7-6 6-3 by Maria Sharapova.
The 17-year-old starlet impressed as she pushed Sharapova all the way in the first set, with the No4 seed winning 7-4 in a tiebreak.
Sharapova, who won at SW19 seven years ago, showed her superior ability in the second set.
Robson had no answer for the Russian's power - although she did break her serve twice.
Holding her own service games proved to be the biggest issue.
Despite a late surge as she went from 5-1 down to 5-3 down, Robson could not claw back the difference.
Sharapova sealed the match with a devastating serve down the middle which Robson could not return.
Elena Baltacha earlier lost 4-6 6-2 7-5 to No20 seed Peng Shuai, meaning both remaining British women had been knocked out.
Elsewhere, top seed Caroline Wozniacki needed just over an hour to beat Virginie Razzano 6-1 6-3.
