Was reading this article a couple of weeks ago and telling some of the guys on here what an impressive line up they have got together for the event in Hong Kong, should be a great 5 days and a good workout for all 8 women. Hong Kong's Victoria Park will play host to six of the top 11 women in the world in January. Defending champion Elena Dementieva and ninth-ranked Daniela Hantuchova have joined the eight-player field for the JB Group Classic
exhibition event set for January 2-5 in Hong Kong.

The 11th-ranked Dementieva, who will be making her eighth appearance, and Hantuchova, scheduled to make her Hong Kong debut, round out a field that features Wimbledon winner Venus Williams, two-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, French Open finalist Ana Ivanovic, U.S. Open semifinalist Anna Chakvetadze, China's Peng Shuai and Caroline Wozniacki, former Junior Wimbledon Champion.

First-round action pits Williams playing Peng Shuai and Ana Ivanovic facing Dementieva. Sharapova meets  Wozniacki. Winners of the main draw matches go into the JB Gold Group and the others go into the JB Silver Group.

"Apart from the Grand Slams you won’t find other tournaments that can bring six of the world’s top eleven to an event with a field of just eight," Hong Kong Tennis Patrons Association president Ian Wade said. "This is unique, and a fine achievement for the city of Hong Kong, even though it’s accustomed to large doses of success. There’s no doubt, our city is a world force, as indeed are its people and we should be proud our town can attract the very best athletes."

Michelle Larcher De Brito, who celebrates her 15th birthday on January 29, 2008, will play doubles and is the singles alternate for the exhibition. The Portuguese teenager will step in if any of the eight singles players are injured or forced to withdraw. Larcher De Brito debuted on the WTA Tour rankings at No. 364 in September to become the youngest player in the top 500 by one and a half years. Her 3-6, 6-2, 7-6(3) victory over veteran Meghann Shaughnessy at the Sony Ericsson Open in March made her the youngest player to win a WTA Tour main-draw match since the introduction of the age-eligibility rule in 1995.

dream on. i have never lost on clay. cant play because of rotator cuff misfortunes now but can easily kick ass if i have to. i will just bring a large bottle of aspirin for pain.
