So far other than the ones that pulled out at least a week or so back I've heard of no more pull outs. Not hearing too much on Nalbandian, which is probably good news for him!

ok. i just viewed a pic of Baghdatis practicing. And while the pic wasn't a full body shot, he looks heavier than Nabladian used to look like. Sheesh.

I wonder if he lost weight would he get better or worse. Maybe the weight adds something to his shots.

I don't think so. Most of the players hit hard due to absolutely brilliant technique. A bit of extra muscle certainly helps, but certainly not extra fat like Baghdatis has. I do get the impression that he is neither fully committed to his tennis in terms of fitness, and to events outside of the slams. I think if Baghdatis were fitted/more dedicated he could crack the top 10 - he has a great FH/BH combo and a pretty decent serve too.

Nalbandian has lost weight in the off season. His coach said he lost 3 kilos, which is approximately what? like 10 pounds??

Hi guys
I know it's the wrong place to put this new site I found
http://www.tenniswatchdog.com/

In the video analyses section there's a very nice one with Federer serve.
Have a look ( ladies, he is serving without shirt)

I wonder how he is playing.  I guess we will soon find out.  He played darn well at the end of the year and I hope he can keep up that level.  If he can, we will see some great matches against Fed and other players with him!  I would like to see him play well and play Nadal!

Don't know if he's played yet. He pulled out of the AO tournament due to a back injury. Maybe he needed that 10 lbs to support his back.

Is it confirmed that Nalby has pulled out? That's a huge blow after the momentum and confidence he'd built up at the end of last year!

I expect some great things from nalbandian because he really kickd some serious butt at the end of last year... I'd like to see him actually win a title... I think Federer might have more competition than usual at the AO

Maybe Dmast meant to say that he pulled out of the AO warmup tournament. I haven't seen anything to the effect that he's out of the AO.

Nothing over at the AO site on this yet - so as of right now - he's still in.

That is good to hear.  With the off season and then him being sick can't help his chances, Federer's either.  Hopefully they are both locked and loaded and ready to play!

What big names are playing tonight?

Big names in lack luster match ups. I'm guessing we'll see Serena and Roddick, Murray is also playing.

Nadal is the last match on Laver. We won't see it tonight.

First, Nalbandian didn't really get "sick" as Roger did.  Nalbandian got 'injured' with his back (back spasams) but I haven't heard any more on his injury.  Roger said he was 100% ready to go.

Tonight's interesting matches:

*Murray vs Tsonga is the 3rd match up on Rod Laver.  This might be interesting but I still expect Murray to come through.  Tsonga is so inconsistent.

*Nadal vs Troick is a night match but I don't expect Nadal to have too much trouble with this match.

*Roddick & Dlouhy is the 2nd match up on Vadafone.  Look for Roddick to steamroll in this one.

*Gasquet vs Lindahl is the 4th match on Vadaphone.  I don't know a lot about Lindahl but Gasquet hasn't come in with a lot of confidence either.  He still should have too much  in this match.

*One interesting match, I think, could be Davydenko vs Llodra (3rd match on MCA).  With all of Davydenko's problems and Llodra playing pretty well, this might be interesting.

*The Moya match is also at night.

*Wawranka vs Benneteau is on the Show Court for today.

The complete schedule for the day can be found here:

Rafa's playing but in the evening match, Australian time.
Murray should be a good match vs Tsonga
and my mine match Maria is the early hours tomorrow morning.
