Chris, I agree about your analyisis of Real, horrible results in last matches but they played bad during all season. last 2 matches at home, 2 losses: Getafe and Roma. Real Madrid, gone in last 16 CL (4 year in a row).
they can only win liga now. FC Barcelona alive in liga, copa and CL.

2nd half underway, fingers crossed, prayers begin....

For a team like Real to have gone out in the 2nd round of the Champions League 4 years in a row is just not acceptable at all, but it seems to me Real never seem to have any youth coming through their system and a lot of their signings just aren't good enough, or aren't team players. Barcelona are a team I'm very unsure about, as although their still in all 3 competitions I'm not sure just how good they are, they don't seem as strong as that fact might suggest- so they amy be lucky to win just 1 of those 3 trophies- they are the only team however that I believe can stand in the way of an English team winning the Champions League.

Pretty quiet and uneventful first 7 minutes to 2nd half in Madrid.

Chris, are you watching the match in Sky with cmmmentator Guillem Balague???

Real youth team is called Castilla, they were in segunda til mid 90's (very strong in 80's with Buitre and Michel, only youth club to play cup final in 80, lost 6-1 to Real) then cameback to segunda last year and was relegated. imho they think they dont need local players, only foreign stars...Barcelona youth team Barça B is better, esp with midfielders Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, Bojan.
Barcelona was on a roll til last week defeat at Manzanares, like 14 matches winning streak, but thinking about CL: defense and gk are perhaps weak. Messi, best player for sure, is injured for 6 weeks and will mis CL Last 8 matches. Roma is also dangerous.

Yeah watching it on Sky with Guillem Balague in the studio, so like in an analysis type role before the match, at halftime and at the end of the match. Interesting about the 2 youth systems. Thats Barca's weakness with their keeper and defense and their reliance of Messi who is now out for 6 weeks. Roma are dangerous, but I don't think they can consistently be dangerous to go all the way and win the trophy, I think one of the English teams would have too much for them over 2 matches.

Guillem Balague is Español big fan, he writes comments in english about the Sacred Mountain club in the official Español website. very famous and a lot of passion for Español.

I was sure he was going to make it, offside 199 goal at Recre, 200 penalty. Español had great chances to win this match. sad.

Real Madrid beat Espanyol 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu!!! and thats just a huge win for Real to pull out as they now go 8 points clear again in the title race, and have put so much presure on Barcelona tomorrow!

next: Romareda, Zaragoza - Atletico Madrid, Zaragoza 17th! in crisis need a win to avoid relegation. 4 coaches in 2 months. Atletico 4th.
tomorrow: great relegation drama in all the other 7 msatches.

Halftime at the Nou Camp and its Barcelona 0-1 Villarreal! Barca are in real trouble of staying 8 points off Real Madrid and with Real playing first next weekend that could be 11 points when Barca next play and that deficit should be too much! This season Barcelona haven't won a match trailing at halftime, whereas Villarreal haven't lost a match after leading at halftime. So bad omens for Barca, very good for Villarreal!

nice stats Chris, Barcelona missing Messi Badly, but however imho they will comeback to at least tie the match, experts this season in late goals....
I'm astonished with Mallorca 7 - 1 Recrativo, seems 3 club to be relegated will be a battle between Recre and Valladolid. Murcia and Levante going down.
Incredible battle for last CL spot: Atletico and Racing 44, Sevilla and Español 42.
