Great, if you want to have a winning team the first priority is the goalie then you can build a great roster around the goalie and a great captain like Scott Stevens.  :)

yes, I know I should have said Scott Niedermayer instead of Stevens. As you mentioned he was a player to have on your team and he is in the hall of fame, he knew how to hit, his incident against Kariya and the Ducks in the stanley cup final was one to remember forever, especially with Kariya coming back and scoring later in the game.
What's wrong with the Penguins?
Do you think the Blue Jackets can make the playoffs?

The rent a player (Hossa) deal last yr killed my Pens.  We lost 2 really good players plus a top prospect to get him and then he goes and signs w/ the Wings.  AGh!!!  The CBJ was/is poised to make a run at the playoffs, but in thel ast couple of weeks, about a third of our team has gotten injured.  Last game Huselius took a cross check to the face by some goon on the BLues.  Mason is going to have to hold us together until we get healthy.  I am impressed by your knowledge of the NHL.

I think it is defense that wins the stanley cup and Pittsburgh are probably too weak in defense and goalie. Hoosa- Red wings-defense and very probably Detroit is going to win the cup again. so sad.
The season is very long and Columbus will have chances to make it to the playoffs.
I dont follow the western conference too much, I like the young Chicago roster a lot.
Thank you so much for your comment about my knowledge of the nhl, of the big 4 sports I found hockey the most entertaining to watch but I am still learning a lot.
I was also a big nba in the past.
Devils are the only franchise that I really care in America. In Lou we trust.

Last night Nash goes down.  Incredible.  The CBJ is playing in the NHL with practically a minor league no-name team.

I saw the highlights of the devils game at Columbus...the firt devil goal was a big error by a blue jacket defenseman, the second one was a typical maddog goal.
Mason was mega impressive, a different sory with the goalies devils played in their previous game at Vancouver.

Do you think the bruins are really nš1 contenders in the east?

My buddy just sent me this clip. This is from my first ever NHL match in 1991. 6 ejections on each side and an NHL record +400 penalty minutes. The clip is 9:14; the "main event" takes place just after 6:00min.

The scariest words for a CBJ fan are "the play is under review."  We have been HOSED so many times by the warroom in Toronto and in the NJ game, the net clearly came out of its moorings BEFORE the puck crossed the line.  The local news ran a compilation of 7 or 8 times we have been CHEATED on reviews.  I guess it's because we're called Columbus and not Mtl, Tor, NY, Chi, Det, etc....Yes I am ticked off.  But NJ is a great team loaded with stars.  And without Brodeur they are doing pretty darn well.  Is Boston the #1 team?  I have my doubts but they sure are playing well 40+ games in.
