Yes, so we should go to lunch or dinner when we are both bored and just laugh at each other. That would be quite the fun.  :)~

Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage.
H. L. Mencken

It is not so important to be serious as it is to be serious about the important things. The monkey wears an expression of seriousness which would do credit to any college student, but the monkey is serious because he itches.
Robert M. Hutchins

Monkeys are superior to men in this: when a monkey looks into a mirror, he sees a monkey.

Thomas  Jefferson said in 1802:
'I believe that
banking institutions are more dangerous to
our liberties than standing armies.
If the American people ever allow
private banks to control the issue of their
currency, first by inflation, then by
deflation, the banks and corporations that will
grow up around the banks will deprive the people
of all property - until their children
wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers
conquered.'

Hardly. Who finds anything you've ever said remotely interesting, let alone quotable?

Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.

MT, I see you quote Jefferson a lot. HBO should really make a Thomas Jefferson miniseries like they did with John Adams, which was absolutely FANTASTIC! Have the same cast: the same Washington, the same Hamilton, the same Franklin, the same Adams and definitely the same Jefferson. Stephen Dillane played Jefferson just like I expected Jefferson to be: soft-spoken, humble, troubled. He's one of my favorite presidents, and I just saw a great documentary on his life on the History Channel last week. His life would make a great HBO miniseries. They just better not leave out the 37 years he spent with Sally Hemmings!

You got it Girl!
For some reason I'm fascinated with early American History.
How fortunate I am to have a daughter who teaches it at the HS level.
She recommends plenty of books for me to read and videos/movies to watch.

I think delving into the background of the people who helped found this country provides insight into the reasoning behind the constitution.  Sometimes. ;-(

I loved the Adams mini btw. :))

I loved his push for conservation!!! ://

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson  :))

To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
