ďThe Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests

- The first human who hurled an insult instead of a stone was the founder of civilization.

- The great question - which I have not been able to answer - is: "What does a woman want?"

- America is a mistake, a giant mistake.

There's something uncanny about each statement. lol

All by the great Sigmund Freud.
You are everything I am not.

I have found little that is "good" about human beings on the whole. In my experience most of them are trash, no matter whether they publicly subscribe to this or that ethical doctrine or to none at all. That is something that you cannot say aloud, or perhaps even think.
Sigmund Freud

Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility.

Samuel Adams

"The liberties of our Country, the freedom of our civil constitution are worth defending at all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have receiv'd them as a fair Inheritance from our worthy Ancestors: They purchas'd them for us with toil and danger and expence of treasure and blood; and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle; or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men. Of the latter we are in most danger at present: Let us therefore be aware of it. Let us contemplate our forefathers and posterity; and resolve to maintain the rights bequeath'd to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. - Instead of sitting down satisfied with the efforts we have already made, which is the wish of our enemies, the necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that "if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom." It is a very serious consideration, which should deeply impress our minds, that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." - Essay in the Boston Gazette, October 14, 1771

I saw a sign that said "Watch for Children". I thought that was a fair trade. Especially if it's crappy kids.

The term "finger puppets" sounds completely fine as a noun, but not as a verb.

"Cotton Balls" is an example of something that I would buy, but not what I would want as a nickname. Like, "here's my friend, Cotton Balls". Now "Cinnamon Buns" on the other hand. That's something I'd totally buy and like as a nickname. Like, "aren't you Cinnamon Buns?", "You bet your sweet a@@ I am."

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley (1849Ė1903).

I don't care whether you're driving a hybrid or an SUV. If you're headed for a cliff, you have to change direction. That's what the American people called for in November, and that's what we intend to deliver.

All the girls that you've run dry with tired, lifeless eyes
Cause you burned them out
But I took your matches before fire could catch me;
So don't look now:
I'm shining like fireworks over your sad empty town...

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Yeah. Taylor Swift's "Dear John". It's about the singer John Mayer. He must have really done her wrong. :lmao:

Long were the nights
When the days once revolved around you
Counting my footsteps,
Prayiní the floor wonít fall through, again
My mother accused me of losing my mind
But I swore I was fine

You paint me a blue sky and go back
And turn it to rain
And I lived in your chess game
But you changed the rules every day
Wonderin which version of you
I might get on the phone, tonight,
Well I stopped pickiní up
And this song is to let you know why

Dear John,
I see it all now that youíre gone.
Donít you think I was too young
To be messed with
The girl in the dress
Cried the whole way home
I shoulda known.

Well maybe itís me
And my blind optimism to blame
Maybe its you and your sick need
To give love then take it away
And youíll add my name
To your long list of traitors
Who donít understand
And Iíll look back in regret
How I ignored when they said
Run as fast as you can

Dear John,
I see all it now that youíre gone
Donít you think I was too young
To be messed with
The girl in the dress
Cried the whole way home

Dear John,
I see it all now it was wrong
Donít you think nineteenís too young
To be played by your dark twisted games
When I loved you so
I shoulda known

You are an expert at sorry
And keeping lines blurry
And never impressed by me
Acing your tests
All the girls that you run dry
Have tired lifeless eyes
Cuz you burned them out
But I took your matches
Before fire could catch me
So donít look now
Iím shining like fireworks
Over your sad empty town

Oh woah oh

Dear John,
I see all it now that youíre gone
Donít you think I was too young
To be messed with the girl in the dress
Cried the whole way home
I see all it now that youíre gone
Donít you think I was too young
To be messed with
The girl in the dress
Wrote you a song
You shouldíve known
You shoulda known
Donít you think I was too young
You shoulda known.

"I transmit astral plane harmonies through my brushes into the physical plane. These otherworld colours are reflected in the alphabet of nature, a grammar in which the symbols are plants, animals, birds, fishes, earth and sky. I am merely a channel for the spirit to utilize, and it is needed by a spirit starved society."

Here's a slogan from my high school tennis team. "GRIP IT AND RIP IT"  :)>>>>

Other than that:
