...The next number 1

...and as I stated earlier the main competition to the Fed off clay.  Hercules you have to give him the credit now.

the number 2 spot is hot right now. Djokovic if he can continue his form can very well take the number 2 ranking especially if Nadal slips up even one inch on clay and has a somewhat early loss.

He aint number 1 quite yet, Roger is NOT in decline, and Nole is NOT YET number 1, he might be later, but not yet.
Dont fight about tennis, support tennis.

I just didn't think I would be seeing a clay court tournament where Roddick is still in it and Nadal is out.   -   Dallas -  31 May, RG 2009

I couldn't care less whose number 1,2,3 or 4 today. I'm just   :yahoo:  about having two youngin's in the mix.

lol  Nadal's been around so long he's not "young" anymore...

Nole and Jo-Willy  :thumbs-up:

It is hard to see who will be #1 this year among Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal.   If Federer and Djokovic split more on the non-clay titles and Nadal continues to dominate on clay and do well on other surfaces the 3 of them could all come very close by the end.

Winning in 3 sets is impressive.
Right now I don't know who is better but Novak can still improve more than Fed at his age. So that's how it goes.

He can imitate Fed now.

If Novak def. Tsonga he will have something like 5165 points. Rafa has 5980 and Roger 6630.
1. Federer 6630
2. Nadal 5980
3. Djokovic 5165

I mean this is crazy. These 3 are the most dominant players in Tennis history I think. Anyone?

Thats looking fantastic for us to have a very interesting season indeed. That's really getting pretty bunched up right now and within a couple of Masters Series events or 1 Grand Slam that could be completely turned around!

And I'm sure you're hoping Sid that Murray can get amongst it all if he can have a good 2008 and maybe get a few kinder draws than in Melbourne  :)

Hi Sid, yeah that 1st round loss has been looking less worse as each round has passed by so Murray should just be looking at it as a minor set back and looking to build his year from this point onwards and playing well at all 3 remaining Slams. It'll be hard for Murray to get in that mix this year I feel but hopefully a good year this year, maybe took 5/6 and he can look to step it up another level next year then. I too get a really good feeling about this year, it really could be a great year for tennis on both Tours, and a closely fought battle for both the ATP and WTA number 1 positions!
