I have to ask myself how much of those antics are legitimate and how much are his struggles, and that's how it comes out.
In otherwords, each player deals with the effort to make it through a tough match, or the tough part of a match differently. Some are stoic and don't appear to be effected. Others show their emotions. Djokovic wears his emotions on his sleeve, both good and bad.
In those bad times, he, like his countrywoman Janks, can be a drama queen.
Fair enough.

I'm with Dallas on this one.
I think he has too many points to defend and doesn't have the fitness to do it.
I see him slipping out of the top 5 by the end of August.

Are you serious?  Have you seen the way he has outplayed everyone lately?  The only way he falls out of top 5 by then is injury!   ;-()

I'm with Buckeye, the only way Djoko is going to slip out of the top 5 is with injury. He'll probably have a top 5 position sewn up for the year around the end of Wimbledon start of North American hardcourt season. I'd go as far as saying there's more chance of Fed going Slamless for the year than Djoko falling out of the top 5, and I can't for one second see that happening either.

#3...
He wont beat nadal on clay...period...
And I don't think that Federer plans on losing to him again. Even though i'm proud of Djokovic's accomplishment, I have to say that Federer wasn't exactly sharp in that match. But maybe in a few years, he will rise to #2.

No way will djoko drop out of the top 5 barring injury or some non tennis related situation.

Say he's #6, who's #'s 3, 4 and 5?

I didn't catch the match but witness the retirement from fatigue.  I think Nole fans should find this extremely distressing so early in the season....

ooops, didn't know he had a virus recently!  I can relate to that! :(

Yeah he's only just starting to overcome a flu fever so I wouldn't read too much into this Monster, credit for him just for attempting to play 2 matches in 2 days for his country.

Yeah Chris, I think I jumped the gun there.  I've had intimate experience with a virus for the past 6 weeks and sometimes just getting out of bed was considered a victory!

Wow, these results of the poll are pretty predictable, aren't they?
The big question is really:  who will be number 2?
Can't wait for the season to really get going.

Not much to do today so...

As it stands today:

                      last    4th
                      year    Rnd.   total(after wimby)
Fed         6900    -1000    +150     6050
Nadal       5735     -700    +150     5185
Nole        5360     -450     +35     4935

If Fed and Nadal make QF's then lose

                      last     QF
                      year    Rnd.   total(after wimby)
Fed          6900    -1000    +250     6150
Nadal        5735    -700     +250     5285
Nole         5360    -450      +35     4935

If Fed and Nadal make SF's then lose

                     last     SF
                     year    Rnd.   total(after wimby)
Fed         6900    -1000    +450     6350
Nadal       5735    -700     +450     5485
Nole        5360    -450      +35     4935

Same result as last year

Fed        6900
Nadal      5735   -1165
Nole       4935   -1965  -800 (behind Nadal)

If Nadal wins and Fed is second

Fed        6600
Nadal      6035   -565
Nole       4935   -1665  -1100(behind Nadal)

I miss the "if Fed loses in 4th round and Nadal wins the tourney" scenario

I think you have this a bit wrong. Nadal currently has 5755 points, and would therefore catch up Fed if Fed loses in R4, and he wins the tourney: Fed would have 6050pts, and Nadal 6055pts.

You can get odds of 15/1 on Federer to lose to Hewitt

I know the Nadal fans think there is not a possibility at all that this happens....but, what happens if Nadal loses 4th round and Roger wins the tournament?  (I see you had the results if Roger lost 4th round and Nadal went on to win...so I want to see the point standings in the reverse scenario)... :innocent:  Just for fun... :innocent:

That's much more likely (no, I didn't say it was expected) but Youzhny>Nadal is far more realistic than Hewitt>Federer, especially considering what happened at this stage last year (yes, I know Rafa's improved).
