Clijsters vs Dementieva
« on: March 18, 2005, 11:28:32 AM »
I think this has the potential to be a great match.  I also think it will tell us a lot about how Kim is really playing right now.  If I had to pick a winner I would say Kim in 3, but I am not sure where she is really at with her tennis.  Will this match be televised?
Good Luck on the Court!!!

Yes it is televised. I think at 3pm ET on ESPN2   or is that one of the mens matches?

I'm pretty sure that I heard it would be televised at that time. I think it will be a good one too. I haven't seen Kim play since none here matches have been televised so I don't know where she's at. Her head to head with Elena D. is 5-1 so she's knows how to beat her. I think she can pull it off it will be good for her game either way.

Clijsters is playing so well! You can tell she is itching to come into net. Her backhand is solid, but she is running around and hitting some major forehand winners.

I likey! I likey! I likey!

Well, at the beginning of the second, she hit a forehand, then grabbed her right thigh, i think a game later she hit an overhead, then a forehand, and a backhand into the net and grabbed her thigh, she finished that game and called the trainer- not sure what it was called exactly, but in the second set she was just cranking the ball going for winners- she knew she was going to loose, but she wasn't going to give it to kimmy.

Maybe her last match against Kuznetsova took a toll on her.

I can bet money Kim didn't want to win against an injured opponent.  She is making her comeback, today's match would of really shown Kim and us where she stands.  I am sure she played well none the less.  Who does she play next?

Clijsters will play the winner of Lindsay Davenport & Maria Sharapova.

The Davenport/Sharapova match has been advanced to the time slot of Agassi/Hewitt.(now) Televised on ESPN2.

Turn it to ESPN2! lol

I was really hoping to see a real battle to see if Kim could pass the test. She played great the frist set but Elana is a fighter I still belive Kim would have won I just wanted to see how'd she respond if she were pused harder. I know that Davenport and Capriati are probably the best ball strikers in the game, but I think Elena D. is right up there she can really hit that ball.

Aww....this sucks. I was really hoping for this to turn into an amazing match for two reasons: to gauge how well Clijsters is doing and to see if Dementieva's awesome play is momentary. I wanted Dementieva to play Davenport in order to see how well she really is playing but poo.,..how frustrating. I still think Elena is about to start hanging with the big girls (Serena Lindsay & Maria) and I hope to see her back in action soon.

Mad props to Kim tho. second tourney back and she's in the finals. Should be gr8 final coming up.

Dementieva has really nice, compact strokes.  And, oh yeah, great legs and butt.  She must use the thigh-master like every day.

lol

Maybe it was those hot pants that she wears that caused the injury.

Not enough circulation.
