Lindsay finally plays full match instead of half match!
« on: March 19, 2005, 09:55:17 AM »
In the Australian Open final with Serena Williams, the Wimbledon semifinal with Maria Sharapova, and the U.S open semifinal with Svetlana Kuznetsova, Lindsay Davenport decided to play half a match.   Play the first set and a half at championship quality, and the last set and a half at lackluster quality.   This cost her winning atleast 1 or 2 of those 3 slam titles.   Last night she decided to play a full match.   Her coach should remind her of those last three matches and reinforce, Lindsay this is the full match you have to play every big match to have any chance of winning a grand slam again.   Play a full match Lindsay not a half match, with a half match you may beat Dechy and Schnyder in the semis but it will very rarely beat Serena or Sharapova.

Well, she probably won as many points in her win yesterday as she did before she crapped out in the longer matches.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

True, maybe that is the key for her, try not to play more than 70 points, LOL!    Sometimes I wonder if she has a fitness problem.   She says she is fit but is she really, Serena may not be her fittest now, but she is athletic enough to feel energetic for longer when she is not in her best shape, Lindsay is not naturally athletic enough to feel fresh into a long match, if she is not as fit as she should be.
