Thank you fghu, I'll download it. Did you do mp3 audio encoding for this one too? it seemed to have been better last time, had sound and it was a smaller file.
do you plan on doing a wimbledon 2005 final too or what? I have that match and I was actually going to do it but it ain't happeneing anytime soon. and I am having trouble with finding a software too.. so.. thanks again!

I am planning on doing highlights for the Roddick Nadal match xerox

i am going crazy trying to work solveig out. you know. .i might just have to reinstall the codecs.. maybe there's a problem there? grr.. i even reinstalled dmast's recomended sony vegas.. and i'll attempt to climb the madd steep learning curve (at least I think it is steep, maybe its just one button somewhere i am not clicking?) coming weekend.

quite honestly that's about the most complicated piece of software I have ever seen. I add a video and all I see is a audio track. like come on! I don't even see the video track of the video! Next week, I'll figure it out, thanks dmast, I am sure I'll bother you quite a bit. do you have the all-out pro version? I have just the .. vegas movie or something, and its version 6.

I use quicktime pro, it's really easy.  You just select the portion of video you want to delete/copy/cut and then do it.  It keeps the original quality of the video except in .mov file.  And when I'm done editing, I encode it with the DivX converter. 

all in all the entire editing job takes me 3hr max (includes downloading and watching the original match) for Wimbledon '03.  See, with qtpro you can edit while you're watching!

- compilation of the sickest shots in tennis (w/ music)
- Federer career highlights once he retires (w/ music)

I have Vegas Video 7. The video should appear as a track along with the audio. I would hazard a guess that you are trying to edit a video that is compressed with a codec it doesn't recognize. It does work with some, like Divx, but I've always coverted whatever I'm working with to uncompressed .avi when I'm working with it. It works better with avi, and it's more responsive. It also saves faster with uncompressed avi. The big drawback is you have to have a good 40 or 50 gigs minimum of HD space with which to work.
Once you get the hang of Vegas, you will be shocked how easy it is to work with it. I was, but I take to software pretty quickly and easily.
