Not sure if there's already a thread about this so I thought I'd make one.

If there's any films coming up that you're going to see soon, then post them here.

Tomorrow me mum and dad are off to Crewe to see Vantage Point, which is where the President gets shot. It's been getting really good reviews so I'm looking forward to it.

:H  I was going to start this once I saw a good (2008) movie. I like to break it out by years. Here are some previous threads by year. Btw, 2007 was such a poor year it didn't warrant a thread.

2007
1. Juno--once you get past the contrived verbage which early on is annoying to distraction, the film is quite enjoyable. :H

others not memorable

I thought Vantage Point was great  :thumbs-up:

Other films I've liked this year so far:

1. There will be blood
2. Untraceable (great potential but the end ruined it)
3. No country for old men

And my favourite films of all time:

1. The Matrix Trilogy
2. The Bourne Trilogy
3. The Saw Trilogy (4 was awful so i discounted it)
4. American Pie Triology
5. Se7en
6. Pulp Fiction

And there are lots more, I love films!

Not Bush, someone named Ashton, played by Willam Hurt.

I thought I am Legend was good.

I was to see 10,000 B.C. and Wanted.  I think there is another movie coming out that I want to see but I forget what it is called.

We saw "I Am Legend" last night at the cheap theatre and it was pretty good!  Definitely worth $1!   ;-()

See Woody Allen's Match Point (my current sig). It's about the way money corrupts an innocent tennis pro. An interesting ending. One wonders what finally became of him  :rofl_2:. Two other good movies about tennis players getting into trouble are Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train and Dial M for Murder  :scared: .  I didn't like much the Wimbledon movie that came out a couple of years ago  despite all the cameos :thumb-down:.

The best tennis movies, are the ones with absolutely no attempts by stars to look like they are playing top notch pro quality tennis. It's just embarrassing when they try. Wimbledon was an example. Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst looked very much like they were acting, and couldn't play tennis to save their lives. The tennis action was contrived, unrealistic and just plain bad. The points overly dramatic, and silly.
But that can be said about any sports movie.

Well I'm back from the cinemas and its safwe to say that Vantage Point lives up to its reviews. It was a brilliant film with plenty of action, but I don't wanna spoil too much for you.

Saw Dr. Seuss's Horton Hears a Who! last night. It definitely wasn't as funny as I was expecting but it had a few chuckles. Steve Carell was funnier than Jim Carey though.

I'm planning on seeing 10,000 BC next week and I want to see Penelope but it's not playing at any theatres near me. :(

Finally had time to sit and watch some of last year's movies on my flight across teh pond.

No Country for Old Men - :good:  Academy Award winner  :good:  That actor is one creepy dute

The next two had my favorite actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Charlie Wilson's War  :applause:  Hoffman was outstanding playing the roll of the fast talking, loose-lipped smart azz.

Before the Devil Knows Your Dead - one messed up movie, pretty entertaining; not something I would recommend but one I considered seeing when it came out because Hoffman was in it.

I have a confession to make.

I don't like movies.... :))  Don't know why but I have no interest in going to the movies but if the book comes out - watch out - I'm at the bookstore in a hurry! :rofl_2:  Weird, I know...

I watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull yesterday.  It was pretty good overall though I don't foresee Harrison Ford doing too many Indiana Jones movies anymore.

I wanted those 2 hours (but what felt like 3) of my life back. I know it is a character driven movie, but nothing happens in that movie. He was scrupulous/cunning man before he found oil and was still a scrupulous/cunning man afterwards.

I really enjoyed Before the Devil Knows You are Dead. The movie is a parent's worst nightmare--makes you not want to have kids.

No Country for Old Men was a terrific movie. Vanity (Tommy Lee Jones character) at its greatest.

Black Book was a good movie also. Not sure if it came out this year or last year.
