I don't like chick flicks at all, but I did a search on Facebook and found that women liked these two movies vis-a-vis men to the tune of +3 to 1 to 10 to 1, respectively. But these two films have a lot to offer to all; in general, I steer clear of romance :barf:  and the like.

You know, there are chick flicks then there are chick flicks. Not all of them are bad. In fact, some of them are quite good. It's the likes of P.S. I Love You that disturbs me the most. Anyway, I am not sure if you saw The Break-Up yet. I would like to think it's your kind of movie and most probably resembles one of your relationships. A lot of people didn't like it. I liked it very much because it was very close to the truth and quite funny in a very sad way.

Romance is good if done tastefully. I just don't want to see anything cheesy. The idea of romance is totally lost on western culture these days. But if you watch many of the old movies, you will see how nicely they were done. It's true that 50 to 60 percent of my favourite movies are from the 30s, 40s, 50s and the 60s. Even the 70s and the 80s had some really great movies. It's sad that romance has now become all about sex and what not.

I did see The Break Up, but found it unremarkable. I have no recollection. I like Vince Vaughn, otherwise, I wouldn't have seen it. I see a lot of familiar dynamics played out on screen. Nothing about The Break Up was remarkable.

VV?    How about Swingers!        And, High Fidelity to go with it!?    It doesn't get much better for me than these 2 movies.   

Swingers is on my long list of all-time favs. Absolutely brilliant film. "Mikey's all grows'd up because he's all grows'd up because he's all grows'd up." That movie is a hooot!

High Fidelity--great flick--is John Cusack and Jack Black. Vince Vaughn is great in almost all of his movies that I've seen (didn't like "Made"). Wondering which VV movie you're thinking of.

I was talking Swingers...........I am pretty sure it is where I first saw Vince V.     Made was whacked out.   I watched High Fidelity last night, for the umpteenth time, and it really is an all-time classic.  Of these 2 films, I think Swingers is slightly more entertaining though.

I meant to tell you that Thelma & Louise is a great movie and a milestone. I have it in my collection. I only have movies I know I will want to watch from time to time and that one is one of them.

I just saw something today so perfect, so beautiful, something that reaffirmed in me the belief that good things can come out of this world... I, of course, am talking about the new movie 17 Again with the most perfect man on this Earth, Zac Efron. I will not use a smiley because no smiley can accurately personify this man.

What would you do if you got a second shot at life? Class of 1989, Mike O'Donnell is a star on his high school basketball court with a college scout in the stands and a bright future in his grasp. But instead, he decides to throw it all away to share his life with his girlfriend Scarlett and the baby he just learned they are expecting. Almost 20 years later, Mike's glory days are decidedly behind him. His marriage to Scarlett has fallen apart, he has been passed over for a promotion at work, his teenage kids think he is a loser, and he has been reduced to crashing with his high school nerd-turned-techno-billionaire best friend Ned. But Mike is given another chance when he is miraculously transformed back to the age of 17. Unfortunately, Mike may look 17 again, but his thirtysomething outlook is totally uncool in the class of 2009. And in trying to recapture his best years, Mike could lose the best things that ever happened to him.

Finally watched some of the this year oscars movies...I quite liked SlumdogM although not sure  it deserved so many oscars,but anyway I was interested only in on oscar so I am happy the way it went..The Curious Case of the Benjamin Button,for me is better movie. It has that drama for the oscars...But!!! I will regret the day I watched The Milk  There wasn't any minute of the movie I liked,or at least until he got killed..Yes,Penn was great as an actor but---disgusting!!!
