I will let you know. In the meantime, I saw The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Excellent stuff. It's about a German boy who meets a Jewish boy during WWII. It's not overwhelmingly sad yet has a very tragic ending. I simply loved it. I don't want to give out much but this story also has a side, where it shows how not every German felt the same way as the Nazis during that period of time, but at the same time, it shows again the extreme version of patriotism and the violence that occurs because of it. I am always baffled by people who say religion is the root of all evil when these very people are extremely patriotic to the point that, they don't mind giving up their lives for their country while killing other people of another country and it's supposed to be a good or noble cause - for both parties. It's a concept that's totally lost on me.
Then I saw Taken - yet another Hollywood garbage with a spoiled brat daughter who has a mind of a 12 year old, a most predictable annoying ex wife and her supposed "perfect" husband who's anything but perfect, and you have this obsessed father who goes on a killing spree in France, because his daughter was kidnapped there as soon as she arrives. Not to mention, he's an ex military man who is well equipped with all sorts of things and an utter showboat throughout the movie. After 20 minutes into the movie, I wanted to go for a walk but then again, it was after midnight and the cottage was almost in the woods, so didn't want to dare. Liam Neeson is completely wasted in the movie. It was all too predictable and in the end, you have to feel sorry for those other girls who were also kidnapped for prostitution, but of course, it's always about an American and predictably so, all the kidnappers were Middle Easterners. It left a bad taste in mouth. I usually don't watch this sort of junk but then again, I was with my friends and they are very much into it. They loved it - as usual.
