I saw Hereafter on Friday night and then saw The Social Network just last night. I had no idea that the Network was by David Fincher, the creator of two of my all time favourite movies - Se7en and The Fight Club.
Both movies were excellent btw and I can say a lot too, but that would be a spoiler. Both movies have great casting and directing. The Social Network was least about the Facebook which was very refreshing to see. It was all about the relationship between two best friends Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin. As far as I know, Mark Zuckerberg was against the release of this movie whereas Eduardo Saverin was the sole consultant of the book but not the movie. The movie has a very anticlimax ending but I didn't mind it.
I have a feeling Andrew Garfield will get nominated for the best Supporting actor even though he has just as a big role as Jesse Eisenberg, but I don't think he was the lead role. Both were absolutely great - especially Andrew Garfield. Justin Timberlake was also great but I think it's Fincher who really deserves all the credit. There was a bit too going back and forth at one time, but other than that, it was a smooth ride.
Clint Eastwood I think is getting better and better with each movie. What was interesting is that, both came out from the comfort zone to make these two movies and the most intriguing of all was perhaps that, despite being an anti social all his life, Mark Zuckerberg makes probably the biggest social network site in history so far. lol. How ironic is that? well, I myself couldn't care less about Facebook though but still.
