Here are my top and bottom for 2010

#1 El Secreto de Sus Ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes)
#2 Please Give
#3 It's Kind of a Funny Story
#4 Inside Job (documentary) -- would be #1 had I not seen a short that covered some of this already
#5 City Island
#6 Shutter Island
#7 Waiting for Superman (documentary) -- I totally disagree with its premise
#8 Greenberg -- this is the only film I really did not care for, at all

This might jog your memory, ton. From May 28th

ton!

I'm going to see El secreto de sus ojos Sunday night. Have you seen it? Like it?

I havent, but everyone, really EVERYONE, told me its very good. But sadly I didnt, IŽll rent it as soon as I finish with all the tests..

Tell me later how was it...

So awesome on so many levels. My buddy and I had a blast reconstructing it for half-an hour after. Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.

The best movies this year for me

1. El Secreto de sus Ojos (Argentine)
1. Biutiful (Spanish...yet another Bardem classic)
1. Incendies (Canadian-French)

Really, I don't know which of these is better among the three...all three are just fantabulous movies. Movies like social network or 127 hours are dvd movies at best.

I enjoyed Inception.  I thought the Harry Potter movie was pretty bad.  I did not like the last 2 at all.  Loved all the ones before that.  The last one better kick some butt!

Any opinions on "Black Swan"? Michael Medved was really panning it this week.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I thought 2010 was an extremely boring year in film (especially in Hollywood). Yes, you had some nice films like TS 3, Inception, The Kids Are All Right and the surprising The Social Network. Maybe The Ghost Writer was decent too, but that's about it. Lots of generic crap like Dear John, Get Him to the Greek, The Last Airbender, Percy Jackson and blah blah blah, The Bounty Hunter, Remember Me, etc. Very disappointing.

Correct...that's why my list includes only foreign films..I thought Inception was the only good movie

I think I started watching that once and stopped pretty early on in the movie.  I typically like these kinds of movies but this one was not entertaining me.  I am pretty sure we are talking about the same movie.

The thing is it's beautifully photographed but a tad boring in terms of plot. Willem Dafoe is fabulous but he can't carry a mediocre script.

Has anyone seen Black Swan?? I've seen it twice. Some great acting there. It was more cinematography than it was a plot for me though honestly.

Just watched Inception. Pretty good, but Ellen Page was poorly cast and distractingly bad.

Marion Cotillard  YES!  :thumbs-up:

Funny that DiCaprio was in this and Shutter Island in the same year. They were very similar.

Saw a really crappy film two weeks ago. Barney's Version  :thumb-down:
