I Think the best style is speed and the Net and volley style.

There is no best tennis style. People differ on what they like to watch, but ultimately, the best style is whichever one you feel most at home with.

Personally, I just like a variety of styles, but mostly I just like to see good tennis. I like to see winners not a lot of unforced errors.

Best style?  Who knows.  But for me I love to watch a match in which one of the players serves and volleys, or at least comes to the net.

Generally a counter-puncher: I play solidly, soak up the pressure and try to draw people to the net before getting them to hit ankle-volleys to set up the passing shot.

I don't play much singles at all, but when I do I usually end up getting the net. As has been mentioned before, serve/volley tennis is extremely effective at the club, and high school ranks because most people are more comfortable standing back and trading groundies. Getting to the net puts pressure on them and takes time away from them.
Only guys with solid technique and spin can pass you if you are any good at it. Most aren't.

The Admin has been considering, and looking into a country flag by the avatar, but hasn't yet. There are a couple Canadians here, one from the Neatherlands, a handfull from Great Briton, but the rest are scattered about the US.

If you peruse the Journal section, you'll get a pretty good idea of where those of us who play, are at in terms of our development.
Most are in the 3.5 to 4.0 area, though in England they have a different ranking system.
A few of our number are playing USTA leagues and tournaments, and some are playing High School tennis.
One guy (Pacer) is out in California trying to get back to playing Challenger Level tennis. That's just below professional level.
There are a few teachers or coaches, and a number of non tennis playing fans.
Hope that gives you an idea.

I like someone who can play well from anywhere which is one of the reasons I like Federer so much.

Let me tell ya, there is nothing like watching an ATP player take an offensive ball on the service line hit it, then back peddle to the baseline and wait for a return.  Sad...

Well, that's exactly what I want to know, how does the ranking system work in England or in the USA for example? What is 3.5 and 4.0?
I don't think I'll understand anything by just looking at the journal section

England is the opposite of the US, and a bit broader. Beginners in England are 11.1, and the better you are the smaller the number. The best you can be ranked in England is 1.1.

It's mostly an honor system. We used to get rated by a pro. About 15 years or so ago the USTA would set up a rating day at a club. You would go out and hit some groundies and play a few games, while a rating pro would watch, then he would give you a rating.
But these days it seems most USTA chapters have gone to self rating, where you look at the NRTP scale, and enter tournaments based on your own assesment. The only time the USTA would get involved is if you rated yourself much lower than you should be and started winning 2 or 3 tournaments in a row. They would then bump you up to the next level and not allow you to play at the lower level.

The all court game seems best now. at the non-professional level best tennis for success is whatever each person feels like perfecting, s&v players,  baseliners, everyone can make thier tennis "best" for success at lower levels if they transcend the norm.
