Ranked #5 in dubs from my tournament play this summer. The tournaments were not nearly as strong as I hoped they would be though.

Funny thing about that. I played him in the finals of a tennis tournament this summer. My partner and I had 4 championship points, we didn't win any of them. One was on an overhead I should of gotten in, but I was backing up fast, decent lob. But I smacked the tape with it, there was no one home where I was aiming. That was Jeffro and I. We will get him next time.

I play in a 4.5 USTA league match. I play both singles and doubles in the league. It is a fun league and everyone there are really good friends. Most of us went to Nationals last year for the 4.0 level.

Would you mind explaining that to me? I'm sorry, I'm just interested.

I play many USTA tournaments but I have no idea if thats associated with it or what. I also know about the point system thing (4.O etc.) but how are you judged on that?

The USTA has a rankign system for levels for adult play. They do not rank anyone with this rating until they are over 18. Pros are considered 7.0. The level goes from 1.0 to 7.0.

4.5 is some pretty serious tennis. Check out the link below, it is what the USTA bases some of the rating on. Most people read this and rank themselves at LEAST .5-1.0 higher than they really are. I used to see a doctor who said he played 4.5. When I went out and hit with him i CRRRRRRUSHED him, he was closer to a very very very weak 4.0.

By reading that rating system I would put myself at a 5.5, but that is not even close to what I play. Tough to rate yourself unless you are playing in those leagues.

Thanks, that helps alot! I'm trying to rate myself (even thought I'm younger) but it really is hard to do it yourself.

BTW - I'm Lauren and I saw your post on MTF so I decided to join and I hope to stay active here.
