Watching the ball better is my favorite tactic for playing better tennis!   Far to many players don't do this well enough!   Good luck Babble turning things around!    I say, chuck it all and just go out and try to play hard and have fun.......the results will come!   ;-()

Buckeye, I have to say, you can deliver one heck of a motivational speech. I'm ready to walk through these corporate walls and take on all comers!  :good:

Sweet!   BTW, how is it looking for you to come to Columbus this Summer?  We are about 1 month away.

Funny you should ask this week. Probability has improved from 30:70 But I can't get too  :yahoo:  Still lots of $$$ laundering to do. Airfare is a real problem this year. I haven't yet, but I should check to see what flights are going for these days. IIRC, my airfare was $135 last year. I'm :scared: to look...

Rodeo Night! Promise!! I'm checking airfare tonight.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm juggling a lot of things at the moment and nearly let this one slip through me fingers.  :H

I took my first set EVER off my partner since we started playing +2 years ago. I played solid all around tonight  lol  Nothing spectacular, but every thing "worked": serve, FH, BH good enough, slice, touch, returns and lobs. I broke him at 4-4 in the 1st set and served out the set to win 6-4. That was huge because (1) I had broken him at 2-2 but literally talked myself out of holding serve at 3-2 (too much noise between the ears), and (2) it was the first time I ever served for a set against him and I held at 30.

He only had time to play 2 tonight and we split them.

I was serious when I said I was ready to walk through wallls and take on all comers!  :thumbs-up:

Cincy update:

As of 6/26, no non-stop flights offered Chicago-Columbus the a.m. of 7/26. Not that I'd ever do this, but just to give y'all an idea, the "cheapest" 1-stop flight is $265 and takes me to Atlanta first; 2-stops over $300. Last year my airfare was $135--direct flight. I was on the court by 11am and having Jamesd carving me brownies by 5pm.

I'll keep looking...

Well that sucks.  :(   I'm coming to play with you guys not watch that crap tourney in Cincy.

Cheapest flight (direct) Chicago-Columbus, Friday eve 7/25, $244. That's up +$100 from last year :thumb-down:  My airfare to NYC is $287 this year; it's a direct flight but up well over $100 from last year. I wouldn't be complainin' if the cabbage were there, but I've spread meself thin this year.

Nice set then against your nemesis!

Look at the trip this way.........maybe an extra hundred dollars or so more is totally worth the greatness that lies here in The C.O. and Cincy!   ;-()

Hey, I majored in math (seriously, not spelling obviously) so if I say it's Pythagoreum, then it's Pythagoreum!  :mad1:

I wanted to actually correct you on Theorem where you wrote Theory but then noticed that you spelled both words wrong!   :)~

That jumped out at me, too  :laugh-bounce:

I tried to woo montertruck, but he has to pass this year. It's a lot more complicated for us forigners than you locals  lol  Aside from me, Dmast was the only one who travelled last year and last I heard, he's still on the fence. I'd like to see Dmast again, too.

No doubt you guys are great, and I had a blast last year and would love to do it again. If it weren't abot the dough, I wouldn't think twice. NYC is looming and that's going to cost more this year than last. I'm having a hard time with this one.

With the heat up, I have to start carring a 3rd frame just for warmups. I lost my stick hitting a groundie today... during freakin' warmups! It's not at all uncommon for me to lose one while serving--I did that last week--but this was a first. For three sets, I need three racquets, one of which is exclusively for warmups.

I played 10 sets in 3 days  lol  Me feets are a royal mess.

I just got off the court. Split 2 sets  1-6, 6-3  I broke him 3 times in the second set. It's starting to sink in that I should be drubbing this guy. Instead, I choose to double fault my service games away. Anyway, he's starting to feel the pressure and says, "I don't know what's gotten into you lately." I can't believe I'm struggling just to get my serve IN!

Didn't you have foot problems last year when you visited Columbus?  I guess you sorta need to break them in slowly?  10 sets in 3 days is a lot of tennis!
Good luck on the court is nice to have, but it's usually extraneous when playing against Baker.
