I did something to my shoulder while serving about 2 weeks ago. I haven't played since, I thought I would make it worse.
I've been tinkering with my serve all year; I not at all happy with my flat serve and want to improve my kickserve. I seem to have made too extreme an adjustment on one serve and felt a muscle(?) strain in my shoulder, kind of in the rotator cuff area (I'm not saying it's a rotator cuff tear). Anyway, I kept playing for at least another hour. On my serve, I just went back to a less extreme grip. So two weeks later, I can still feels some soreness only. It doesn't affect my ability to lift something bulky or heavy. But if I stretch my arm behind my head, I can feel some pain. I really have to poke my finger deep into the region to feel the soreness. But it is pretty sore, but does seem to be getting better.
I don't feel like getting an X-ray right now. I'm just not going to play for a long while.
