Topspin is generated by the racquet brushing up the back of the ball.

Topspin causes the ball to be forced down after it crosses the net.

Yep yep, those guys nailed it. You need to generate spin so the ball clears the net and then comes back down on the other side with the help of spin. Want to see extreme topspin? Look up Nadal's forehand on Youtube.
Good Luck on the Court!!!

It can be any number of things, but without seeing you play, we can only guess. But it sounds like you may have a technical problem. Such as poor footwork, bad positioning, inadequate follow through, you may be making contact with an open or closed face, therefore hitting long or into the net. It can be many things. It would be a good idea to have a USTA certified coach take a look at your game and see what they say. You have to have the proper mechanics in place before you start trying to hit big. Early on your focus should be on consistency and proper technique.

no i was making fun you liking that emotion. :)>>>>

its actually funny. When I came here I used to ask questions like this and eeryone used to help me, but I actually haven't seen threads like this in a loong time. :good:

I'm sorta getting a taste of what all these folks who know so much about the game must have felt like answering my questions back then, and its funny ;-() and also incredible how much I have grown as a tennis player since I came on here. well i was reeled into tennis from here on so its but natural but really amazing nevertheless.

again, you should start up a journal.

Get some quality coaching or lessons and hit lots of balls.
You can get some decent info from a forum, but expert coaching on the court is a better use of your time.
Feel free to start a journal to track your progress and keep us posted.
Good luck & have fun!! :))
CONK da ball!!!
