Gosh,Gosh...Where is the end of this unlucky career..As a fan of himself ,I  had to swallow big time worries and nothing changed since then ! Days were once again passing and another withdrawal have been announced,so nothing new for me  And once again I have to live in fear for couple of days to come knowing that he could pull out again.....

ATP DAVIDOFF OPEN...Tommy is scheduled for Main draw ! but I mustn't be so happy because it isn't for sure that he'll play....I read some interview of his and that was quite opposite to the latest news that says he's in the main draw ...
But I am happy to see him there, and if he 'll play, this is pretty good draw for him ... ;-() Hernandez in a first round....

Now it's all clear that Tommy won't take part in Basel and as a matter of fact he will be missing 'till January as he said...OK,I am a little bit disappointed but far from being angry as I expected this...For couple of months there couldn't be found any news or information about Tommy..but now Tommy turned to his fans...I'll post his speech..

TOMMY'S SPEECH

"I won't give up that easily."
Hello fans,

I finally find the time to get in touch with you after the turbulent last weeks. I admit: news about me had become somewhat rare. On the one hand this was of course due to being disappointed about my early drop out. On the other hand my body needed time to regenerate and I needed a little peace and quiet. All the setbacks - which always seem to occur the moment you think you are back on your feet – had taken their toll and these experiences needed to be digested.

I was highly motivated at Flushing Meadows, of course, and convinced to be able to go on further in the tournament. Sadly, an injury aborted my plans yet again. Especially at one's favourite tournament one wants to give one's best. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible due to an inflammation in my right elbow. I have been struggling with this handicap for quite a while and was now forced to do something about it.

So I returned to Germany and started treatment with Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt who has done excellent work yet again. The rehab with Klaus Eder had gone well, too, so I could soon start with light training.

And this the status quo right now: I am working very hard at the moment and am training for my comeback here in Las Vegas. At what moment you can expect my comeback I cannot say yet myself. The most important thing is that I am without pain and a 100% fit. I won't risk a return to the court until this is the case. Only then I can give my utmost and attack. Maybe I will be able to play as soon as January, but it might be later. I don't want to set the standards to high for myself. In any case, caution is advisable. It would be great to take part in one of the Grand-Slam tournaments in 2009. This is yet again a goal in the remote future and not a primary one. I know, initially, I will have to set my sights lower. Undue optimism is out of place. But, and you can be sure of this, I won't give up that easily.

As you have surely heard, rumours of my retirement circulated in the press after my drop out. I must say that I did mention to a journalist that I did in fact question whether it was worthwhile continuing should I have to endure a fourth operation. The gruelling pain, the hard rehab – one does expect a lot of one's body. At the moment I don't see a reason for such considerations though. I feel good and want to come back to the ATP-Tour. My body in any case is telling me that it hasn't hit its peak yet. And that gives me a positive outlook on the future.

Last Saturday André Agassi invited me to his yearly "Grand Slam For Children" charity concert. There was a row of real stars performing on this stage: Sheryl Crow sang an impressive duet with Rod Steward for example. Furthermore The Killers appeared and Natasha Beddingfield received a well-deserved ovation. It was a really great evening!
Despite all the fun we had one shouldn't forget the real motivation of this charity event: André is campaigning for children in need. And that really is a great thing, which I happily support.

As you may have noticed, this website has changed face. I hope the new layout is to your liking. From now on the guys from the communications agency Seven Dead Cats work on my page. They have reassured me that the webpage will soon appear livelier with its new features. You'd better check regularly: a lot will happen here.

So far, so good. I will be keeping you up to date on a more regular basis. I promise. In return, please keep your fingers crossed that all will go well in the weeks to come and that I can quickly focus on my comeback.

All the best from Vegas

Tommy

I have some problems lately...And busy as well...The main problem is that I am currently 'netless'..
I hope I'll be back to you guys soon...I hardly can catch up some time to enter one of those 'internet cafe'...
Anyway I'll be back as soon as possible, but I'm always informed about Tommy news so no big problem for me  :))
OK,here's his last interview, and hope for Aus Open :

Hello fans,

I said I would keep you up to date. I am literally almost out out of the door while typing these lines. I am about to leave for New York. A real model job awaits me in the "Big Apple": a photo shoot for the 2009 campaign of my equipment supplier K-Swiss. Then I will get myself checked through again by my doctors. But not to worry, I am quite happy about my current physical condition and for the first time since quite some time I can hardly complain.

The training is proceeding very well; I am conscientiously treating my arm with care. Day by day the pain is getting less. I am now hoping for positive feedback from my doctors. And maybe I will soon know when I will be able to grab hold of my racket again. I miss going to the court and hitting some balls around. But at the moment the continuous muscle training is more important. If I don't rush things I might even be able come back for the Australian Open. But right now I need to be patient.

Happy Halloween!
If I am not in the gym weight lifting I fully enjoy my involuntary time-off. It is nice to be able to see old friends now, for whom I don't normally find time when jetting from one tournament to the next. Moreover I am really happy to spend a lot of time with Sara. Not long ago we went to the Halloween party of a good friend of Sara's. We had a lot of fun and even some of my oldest friends were invited.

These events away from the tennis courts spent with my loved ones not only bring me pleasure but also the much needed energy for my hard training. I look into the future optimistically and am sure that I can put my aspired comeback into practise.

Off to New York!
See you later,

Tommy

2006 CHAMPION TOMMY HAAS RETURNS TO DELRAY BEACH

Delray Beach, FL (November 29, 2008)-Individual tickets to the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships (ITC) go on sale Monday, Dec. 1, 10:00AM, and the offer just got hotter as tournament officials announced that Tommy Haas, a 3-time US Open quarterfinalist, has joined the draw.

Haas, the 2006 Delray Beach ITC champion and one of 12 ATP players featured on the ATP World Tour 2009 calendar, joins 2008 US Open quarterfinalist Mardy Fish and 2008 US Open champions the Bryan Brothers on the 2009 Delray Beach ITC ticket. The 17th annual ATP World Tour tournament is scheduled for February 21 - March 1 at the Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center.

Individual grandstand tickets for the first nine sessions are $15-$20 each with reserved seats priced at $30-$35 and box seats $60-$65. Grandstand seats for the quarterfinals through finals range from $20-$30 while the range for reserved seats is $40-$55 and box seats $65-$85. Tickets can be purchased on the official tournament website at www.YellowTennisBall.com  or by calling (561) 330-6000.

The German-born Haas has won 11 career ATP titles with a career-best world ranking of No. 2 that came in 2002. A shoulder injury sidelined him for the next year and a half, and his trek back to the top 20 became reality in 2004 when he finished the season ranked No. 17 and was named the ATP's Comeback Player of the Year. He rose to No. 11 in 2006 and was ranked No. 12 in 2007.

Following a second shoulder surgery in November 2007, the 31-year-old Bradenton resident's 2008 season was highlighted by an amazing performance at the Master Series Indian Wells event where he reached the quarterfinals after scoring big wins over top 10 Andy Roddick and Andy Murray.

"We're big fans of Tommy, and he has a huge following both on and off the court. Just look at him in the new ATP World Tour Calendar," said Delray Beach ITC tournament director Mark Baron.  "He'll continue to be a key part of our tournament, because every year he's a favorite to win the title and our fans absolutely love him."

Ticket packages also continue to be available for purchase. The Championship Series includes all 13 sessions for $280 while the Weekender includes the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals for $230-5 sessions in all. Box seat packages range in price from $1,800 to $2,400 for 4 courtside seats for all sessions, premier parking and exclusive annual Box Holders Party invitations.

The Delray Beach ITC is celebrating its 11th year in Delray Beach and its 17th in South Florida. Complete tournament information can be found at the official tournament website,  www.YellowTennisBall.com, at myspace   and  facebook("Delray Beach ITC") or by calling the tournament office at (561) 330-6000.

Tommy speaks to his fans once again ! As always..optimistic !  :))  ;-()

08.12.2008 | "My little dream is materialising by the minute."

Hey fans,

I have got good news for you just in time for the pre-Christmas period: I am back on the court hitting balls. I am intensifying my training step by step at the moment. I am still quite cautious, but I feel good all the same. If things continue like this my little dream of participating in Melbourne is materialising by the minute. We'll see. I will have to play a tournament beforehand, in any case, to gain competition experience.

I have to admit that I felt a little nostalgic when I saw the pictures of the Masters in Shanghai the other day. As a professional you just can't do without tennis for any length of time. In my view there were some pretty interesting matches there, too. People like Andy Murray or Novak Djokovic have remarkably confirmed their strong seasons. On the other hand I was surprised by the numbers of refusals in the run-up. The long year has obviously taken it's toll on my colleagues.

There has been a lot going on for me outside the court: Sara's mother invited us for thanksgiving. The evening was typically American: the whole family enjoyed the enormous turkey, as is custom here in the States. Furthermore my father was over for a visit for two weeks for the first time since 15 years, to get an overview of the training conditions over here. Luckily, the weather conditions were ideal at this time, which enabled us to do a lot together. However, the two weeks went by in no time, of course. But maybe I will see him again as soon as Christmas. I tend to spend the Christmas holidays the old fashioned way with my family in Munich. Unfortunately, a pre-Christmas atmosphere doesn't arise here. There is just too much sunshine. And I would love to stroll around a Christmas market with Sara once. But we haven't yet decided how and where to spend our Christmas.

The training is waiting. Have a good few days, until next time.

Tommy

Haas hoping to make return in January

Tommy Haas is making a return to the tour in January after missing the entire indoor season with an elbow injury.

Haas sustained the injury during a five-set loss to Gilles Muller in the second round of the US Open, which saw Muller come from two sets to love down to win 2-6, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Haas has only just resumed on-court practice and hopes to be back for the Australian hard-court swing, in particular the Australian Open where he's a two-time semi-finalist in 2002 and 2007. 2002 was probably Haas' best chance to date of winning a slam. Back then he was one of the top four players in the world and led Marat Safin two sets to one in their semifinal before rain intervened and after the delay a more focused Safin came back to win in five.

However, Haas' ranking has now dipped to 82 and he will need wildcards to get some match practice in before Melbourne. He's hoping for one into Brisbane, but he's up against Gael Monfils plus a string of Aussie hopefuls including 16-year-old wonderkind Bernard Tomic.

Meanwhile, the 2009 field for the Kooyong exhibition has been finalized with Carlos Moya and Fernando Verdasco coming in as late replacements.

The current list is: Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka, Fernando Gonzalez, Marin Cilic, Marat Safin, Marcos Baghdatis, Carlos Moya and Fernando Verdasco.
