This is a simple drill to help develop your volleys. You get to hit
more volleys in a shorter period of time, and it is great
for beginners as well because the ball is moving at a slower
pace rather than having one person drill groundstrokes at
you while you are at the net..
Both players stand on their service line. Just try to keep the ball in
play and hit as many volleys back and forth as you can. This is also good
practice for the 1/2 volley, you won't be able to keep all of the volleys
in the air so try to work on the 1/2 volley when you can't hit the ball
before it bounces. I feel the best way to do this is to see how many balls
you can keep in play. Start by setting a goal like 20 volleys in a row
(10 a piece). From there increase in number. Start out hitting soft volleys
and increase in pace as your progress.
Good Luck on the Court!!!
